Photoshop Retouching – at ICP in NYC
weekend workshop – Saturday/Sunday, July 13-14, 2013
Retouching helps your good pictures look great, and your great pictures look perfect. Regardless of subject matter – whether you’re enhancing “people” pictures, still-life, or art photos – you’ll learn how to use Photoshop to improve your work. Straightforward demonstrations and hands-on lab-time in ICP’s state-of-the-art digital lab will teach you how to: take utmost advantage of Layers and Masks for non-destructive editing; use the Clone Stamp and Spot Healing tools to enhance skin and remove unwanted elements; and apply the Transform tools, Puppet Warp, and the Liquify filter to reshape and re-structure images. We will cover best Photoshop practices for color correction and color management, as well as how to streamline complex workflows by creating Actions. Individual attention will be provided to help students with specific areas of interest. Of course, no workshop that includes “perfecting” techniques would be complete without lively discussions about the ethical implications of image manipulation.
Workshop Level: Intermediate. Participants should be at home in Photoshop, and entirely comfortable with Mac OS computers.
