Fancy cameras make great pictures. (Yeah. The same way I need a $400 chef’s knife to make a great meal.) The Krappy Kamera Competition, founded by my friends Sandy Carrion & Mary Ann Lynch almost 20 years ago (and now an international phenomenon) celebrates the idea that it’s the photographer who makes the picture, not the camera. A “bad” camera in the right hands will always make better pictures than an $$ camera in the wrong hands.

Enter the contest. I’m looking forward to checking out your work!
I love “bad” cameras! my favorite camera is a Diana that needs tape and hardly even works, it takes some of the best pictures I have ever seen. im all about being open to the photographic as more an art than a science and welcoming some more mystery into what my camera makes.
